This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to implement the production of cultured stock, specifically marine prawns, using low water exchange microbial floc technologies.

The unit applies to individuals who have specialised aquaculture knowledge and skills and responsibility for overseeing staff to prepare the culture system and produce stock to meet workplace and industry requirements.

All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, according to state/territory health and safety, biosecurity and environmental regulations, legislation and standards that apply to the workplace.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Assessment Tasks
